In a groundbreaking initiative that exemplifies the power of collaboration and forward-thinking, SVP Arizona is reshaping the way nonprofits approach their work with AI. With the launch of an eight-module course on ethical and practical applications of AI, SVP Arizona is equipping organizations to harness the potential of technology while staying true to their missions.

Amy Armstrong, CEO of SVP Arizona, shared the journey behind this innovative program, which is currently in beta and set to launch in March. “Nonprofits can struggle to adopt new technologies, but we want to make sure that as many nonprofits as possible have this new resource,” Amy explained. “If you’re not utilizing AI, you’re going to get left behind.”

Each module offers nonprofit professionals—whether in administration, fundraising, executive leadership, marketing, or other roles—hands-on assignments designed to deliver practical results. “The goal is to clear the ‘parking lot’ of tasks that organizations simply don’t have time for, allowing teams to focus more on mission-driven work,” Amy said. Upon completing the course, participants will receive a certificate of completion, adding to their skills and continuing education.

From Partner Idea to Revenue Source

The course originated from an SVP partner who introduced the opportunity to collaborate with an organization specializing in AI training for niche markets. This partnership presents a new revenue stream for SVP Arizona, with a portion of each course fee going back to the organization. “It’s affordable—$350 per course, or $300 with our discount code—and accessible to nonprofits of all sizes,” Amy added.

SVP Arizona plans to roll out the course across SVP International’s network of affiliates, extending its reach to thousands of nonprofits globally.

A Culture of Innovation

This initiative is just one example of SVP Arizona’s commitment to innovation. Under Amy’s leadership, the organization has embraced fresh approaches to partnership and program development, from engaging younger, more diverse partners to launching projects like “brain trusts” for short-term nonprofit support.

“We’ve really tried to be super innovative, be current, and stay relevant. We’ve been around for 25 years, so there’s a lot of history there, but that also means that there’s a possibility of being stagnant,” Amy emphasized. “It’s just the whole idea of standing behind innovation, trying things and being willing to fail.”

Looking Ahead

As SVP Arizona prepares for the launch of this new tool, the excitement is palpable. “This is not to eliminate jobs. It’s to make people’s jobs more efficient,” Amy concluded.
